大写小写词义有别, 富有趣味巧辨别

英语中，有些单词拼法完全相同，但第一个字母大小写有区别，而意义便迥然不同，要小心理解和使用，以免被人误解。现举例如下，一句辨异，富有趣味。

WC ≠ 洗手间

经常在外语聊天室泡着，或者和歪果仁邮件往来的小伙伴

对“Sorry,WC ”应该司空见惯了

1、WC

我们最常说的WC其实是water closet的简写，一般是公共洗手间的标识。

英文释义：

A toilet is sometimes referred to as a WC, especially on signs or in advertisements for houses, flats, or hotels. WC is an abbreviation for ‘water closet'.

例句：

Leave me alone and I am going to WC.

别管我，我要去洗手间。

2、bathroom / restroom

在美式口语中，常用bathroom和restroom来指厕所，restroom一般指公共场所的洗手间、盥洗室。

英文释义：

a room in which there is a bath / bathtub, a washbasin and often a toilet.

例句：

Go and wash your hands in the bathroom.

到盥洗室洗手去。

3、powder one's nose

powder是抹粉，其实就是补妆的意思，是女士去洗手间的委婉说法。

I’m just going to powder my nose.

4、pee v./ n. 方便

英文释义：

When someone pees, they urinate.

例句：

The man was probably having a pee.

他可能在方便。

5、go tinkle / potty

这两个词一般是对小孩子说。tinkle较常用在口语中，是去卫生间的意思；而potty作名词时表示儿童用的便盆，go potty（美）就是解手的意思。
